This is a class that will help you to lower your blood pressure, gain flexibility and energy, increase your physical strength and improve your balance. You will notice through deep breathing, calmness will become part of your day. You will find yourself not reacting to situations that may have frustrated or angered you before. This is a joyful class where judgements and egos are left outside the door. Every posture can be modified. Regardless of your current condition you will start on a new path to health, calmness and flexibility. My purpose as a yoga teacher is to try and turn you 'on' to yoga and not 'off'.

Spring is here, and your thoughts start to turn to losing weight and shaping up. You've just gone through your closet for that special summer outfit, you've started your exercise program, but there's still the question of diet: what can you do to help lose the cravings and feel full while reducing calories? The answer is surprisingly simple: fiber.
There are two types of fiber, soluble and insoluble. Soluble fiber is like a sponge; it absorbs excess cholesterol and toxins. Insoluble fiber is like a scrub brush; it 'scours' the intestinal tract and colon clean. Both types of fiber are essential for good health. Most people do not eat a proper, well balanced diet including fruits, vegetables, seeds and grains. Over time, this leads to a build-up of undigested food in the intestinal tract and colon which ferments, putrefies and becomes toxic. These toxins seep into the bloodstream and lead to poor health, chronic disease and can hinder your weight loss efforts. How does fiber help?
Deepen your own practice and learn how to safely teach Hatha or flow-style to beginner students. The Yoga teacher training certification program is designed to be a hands-on learning experience, with practical applications of student-centred teaching techniques. This yoga teacher training program includes, Hatha (asanas), Pranayama, Meditation, Kriyas, bhandas, the Chakra system and includes a practicum.
Fall Program > Sept 15th - Dec 5th 2009: - Now open for Registration

Why Eat It Amaranth has been touted as a miracle grain, a supergrain, and the grain of the future: A dietary staple of the Aztec empire, this ancient crop was "lost" for hundreds of years, and only since the Sixties, following its rediscovery, has it been grown in the U.S. Amaranth, which has a pronounced earthy sweetness, is not a true grain, which is a nutritional plus: Unlike wheat or barley, amaranth is not deficient in the essential amino acid lysine. These tiny seeds of a weed-like plant are also a very rich source of iron, and supply copper and magnesium. And amaranth is well supplied with dietary fiber. Amaranth can be cooked alone, or combined with grains such as brown rice or buckwheat, and the seeds can be toasted until they pop like popcorn.
